Westlake University is a private, internationally-oriented research university founded by seven renowned scholars, including Shi Yigong and Rao Yi. The school aims to contribute to the development of higher education and scientific research in China. The fully-accredited university was officially founded on April 2, 2018. Hillhouse founder Lei Zhang is a Westlake University founding donor and played a key role in its establishment.
