Hillhouse believes innovation can fundamentally improve people’s lives and that science fuels innovation. Driven by this belief, the firm supports The Future Science Prize Program, which awards three prizes, including “The Life Science Prize,” “ The Physical Science Prize” and “The Mathematics and Computer Science Prize” for Chinese entrepreneurs and scientists. Every year, $1 million is awarded to each prize category towards research in the respective field.
The award program is organized by the Future Forum, a non-profit organization founded by influential leaders in the Internet, investment, science and education sectors. Backed by Hillhouse, the forum aims to increase public understanding of the importance of research in the basic sciences and encourage discussions about how science will impact society and individuals in the future.
