When snack brand Bestore teamed up with Hillhouse, e-commerce was still a small part of its business. However, both management teams understood that it had the potential to transform the company’s business.
Over a number of years, Hillhouse and Bestore worked together to build out the company’s online presence, and focused on the high-end part of the snack business, prioritizing premium, imported foods, like dried fruits from Thailand and Turkey. Today, about half of Bestore’s sales come online, and the brand is known throughout China for its commitment to quality, internationally-sourced products.
